Instructions:

Prepare the Fish:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually add the cold sparkling water and mix until a smooth batter forms.
  • Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and dip them into the batter, coating them evenly.

Fry the Fish for fish and chips:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the fish fillets in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove the fish and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Make the Chips:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a separate pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato fries in batches until golden. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt immediately.

Prepare the Garlic Sauce for fish and chips:

  • In a small bowl, combine yoghurt, sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well and set aside.

Cook the Green Beans:

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Make the Salad for fish and chips:

  • In a small bowl, toss the mixed lettuce with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.

Serve fish and chips:

  • Plate the fish and chips, adding a serving of garlic sauce on the side for dipping. Arrange the green beans and salad alongside the fish and chips for a complete meal.

Serving Tip 💡:

Serve the fish and chips with extra lemon wedges for added brightness and enjoy with a chilled white wine or  beer to enhance the flavors of the dish. The garlic sauce is perfect for dipping both the fish and the fries, adding extra creaminess to each bite.
